Honey Butter Sweet Potato


This week our love for honey butter chips made us want to try recreating it as a side dish to have with our mains. And so... we experimented a little in the kitchen and voila! We made honey butter sweet potato.

Let's get started shall we?



Serves 2

1.5 cups sliced sweet potato (we used the purple ones, but you can use the yellow/golden ones too)

2 cups oil (or more for deep frying if your pan is shallow)

3 tbsp honey (more if you want it more sweet)

2 tbsp butter (more if you want it more savoury)


  1. Wash, peel and slice your sweet potatoes as shown below.

  1. Deep fry your sweet potato slices.

  1. When a fork goes through easily, remove them from the oil and drain excess oil.

  2. In another pan, add the butter and honey and heat until the butter starts to bubble.

  3. Toss in the sweet potato slices and mix well. Do a taste test. If you want more butter or honey, go ahead and add more!

  4. Serve.
